Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the oldest commonly-used procedures in the world today and has many proven benefits for recovering from illness and injury. It can help alleviate symptoms of arthritis, sciatica, back pain, bursitis and neuropathy, among many other conditions.

The technique involves inserting thin, disposable needles into specific acupuncture points throughout the body.  Most people find acupuncture relaxing with minimal discomfort.

Acupuncture can be used as an individual therapy or combined successfully with other forms of physiotherapy.  Relief may be immediate or occur within a few hours or days following treatment.

Surgical Rehabilitation

Assessment and treatment before and after surgery is important for managing the following criteria:

  • Improve range of motion and strength of the injured area.
  • Prevent compensatory stresses to other areas of the body.
  • Regain full function as well as a progressive safe return to work, sport and recreational activities
  • A customized home program to facilitate overall conditioning, a faster rate of recovery and to minimize possible complications post surgery

Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy focuses on restoring muscles to optimal length, strength and balance.

Whether the cause of the pain is primarily muscular or a secondary reaction to a trauma, muscles will react to protect and guard the affected area. By reducing muscle pain, we allow the body to relax and recuperate.

What are the benefits of Massage Therapy?

Using touch to increase the circulation to the affected area while also addressing other involved parts of the body, has far reaching benefits that include:

  • Relief of pain, tension and muscle spasm
  • Increased ease of movement
  • Restore previous level of activity
  • Improved sense of vitality and well being.
